Describe, frame and reduce useful images.
Prepare before uploading
Resize to the actual use. A screenshot in a column does not need poster dimensions. Use a suitable format: this site uses SVG diagrams and WebP screenshots. Bundled SVGs are project assets; uploading new SVGs may be disabled for security.
Describe the meaning
Set alternative text, an optional caption and the focal point in the media library. The editor uses this description and lets you override it for a particular use. A Cover uses its image as decoration; its meaning should remain in the text.
Choose the right block
Use Image for a screenshot, Gallery for a series, Media and text to explain a diagram. Link an image to its larger version if useful. Video accepts a supported platform URL or a compatible direct file URL; external embeds require consent when that protection is enabled.
If an image is missing
Check that the file exists in uploads and that the block selects the correct medium. Replace uses before deleting a file. Missing descriptions are flagged before publication.
